Finally! It’s race weekend! The only thing that sucks about this weekend is the track, but that’s all right because there should be a good battle going on up front. In this morning’s practices it was Barrichello out front in the morning and Alonso in the afternoon. However, it does seem that the Brawn cars are back on pace, and that the Renault may just be showboating for the Alonso’s hometown fans. But one never really can tell this early in the weekend. I’m not going to go into too much detail about the rest of the field today, but I will make some predictions for the race on Sunday.
I will say that it will be Button on pole, Webber in second and Barrichello in third to lead the race off, while Barrichello will make up positions in the pits and finish ahead of Button for a Brawn one-two and Rubens’ first win this season. He will want to do that for he friend Felipe Massa, who is out of the race because one of Barrichello’s springs came off the car and hit Massa in the head. Third will be Webber followed by Rosberg, Raikkonen, Vettel, Sutil and Hamilton. Frankly, I’m just coming up with names so that maybe one or two of them will be correct because many of the cars are now on the pace and it is hard to determine who is going to go well in the race. It may even turn out that Toyota comes up with something special over the course of the race, but that remains to be seen.
Stay tuned for what should be an exciting race.
