US F1 is back in the news. This time, they say they are going to be testing their car on American soil down at Barber Motorsport Park in Alabama. This test was granted by the FIA and is slated for the beginning of February. No one knows more than that right now, but since this is January 8, it does sort of mean that they at least have a car in production and that they are going to hire drivers very soon. The drivers that are slated to be testing for the team include Argentine Jose Maria Lopez and Briton James Rossiter.
Peter Windsor, one of the team owners, has said that this approach is designed to save them money and to make it so that they are able to grow the team from the inside. They could also hire an experienced driver, to help with car development throughout the year, but that would probably be more expensive than what they want to do. Honestly, I think that they should do whatever they want and just hope to still actually see them on the race track.
