German Grand Prix Predictions

I was out of town when the British Grand Prix took place, but there were a few notable things that emerged from that race. The first was that, mainly due to bad Red Bull pit stops, Ferrari and Fernando Alonso scored their first victory of the season. The car has been competitive since around about Monaco, and also looks to be on pace for a good finish this weekend. The other bit of news was that Red Bull ordered a much faster Mark Webber to hold station behind his teammate, Sebastian Vettel, at the end of the race, when Mark could have easily made the pass. Webber looks to have taken that sort of treatment to his race this weekend and, after topping the second free practice timesheets, should be looking good for the race. However, he hasn’t proven to be the best starter in the field, but this weekend I think he proves otherwise. Here is how I see the German Grand Prix shaking out.

1. Mark Webber – even with the new, more robust pace of the Ferraris, I think the Australian makes a statement by winning this race handily.

2. Fernando Alonso

3. Sebastian Vettel

4. Felipe Massa

5. Lewis Hamilton

6. Nico Rosberg

7. Jenson Button

8. Michael Schumacher

9. Vitaly Petrov

10. Kamui Kobayashi
