Minneapolis Auto Show

Once again, it was the time of year for the Minneapolis Auto Show, and once again, it continued to get smaller. This year, the show didn’t even cover the entire convention center floor like it has in the past, but nothing really felt like it was missing. I’m pretty sure they simply crammed the cars closer together, but I don’t see the reason for it. Maybe by not renting out the space, they could save on costs… whoever they is I guess. Regardless, there were some decent vehicles, and some surprises as well. For instance, I did not expect to see the SLS or the Fiat 500 or the A8 W12 at the show. I was expecting the R8, but not the convertible, and I guess I didn’t really expect to see the new STi sedan there either, but I’m glad it was because it really overshadowed the Evo that was sitting right behind it. In fact, other than the horrible STi seats (which the Evo clearly comes out on top in that battle thanks to its Recaros) the Subaru is the more aggressive looking vehicle, and it showed. When I was there, people were all over it, while the Evo was sort of lost in the shuffle behind it.

Strange Vehicle Here

This was just forwarded to me today. I have to say that it is one of the strangest vehicles I have ever seen. There have been many attempts to create a vehicle that works on the land and on the water, but this thing takes the cake. The front is from a Durango while the back is pure Corvette. Every one of these is custom made to the specifications of the owner and each comes with the Corvette LS9 up front. It is good for a 4.5 second sprint to 60 and a ton of fun on the water. New Top Gear This Sunday

Well, it is now official. Top Gear will be back on the TV this Sunday!!! W00t!! Normally, this would call for me to actually recap the final two shows of the last series, which I totally did not do and forgot all about and meant to do but other stuff got in the way and blah blah blah. Long story short, I may end up doing that eventually. But for now, I will try to focus on this series and give a verdict on how the first episode went on Tuesday next week. So stay tuned because there is actually something to watch on TV over the weekends while the long wait for the next F1 season.
